How often is it that an entire island helps to host a party?

On January 1, 2008, at approximately 6 PM Eastern Standard Time, the_other_rock is letting it all hang out for the first (possibly annual) Pan-Reality New Years Party, and your pups are invited!

What is this For?
To have your pups have a bit of fun, and to meet new pups to RP with. I find this a very difficult thing to do sometimes, so I figured I'd make it easier for myself.

About the Republic of Newfoundland
The RoN is what happens when you write a universe where almost all Newfoundlanders possess either magical or elemental powers (most are members of the Burgite ethnic group), but put this in a relatively normal setting. That means that you'll find technology on this world; satellite TV and radio, internetz, a highly functional armed forces, and - most importantly - a very good knowledge of the Omniversal Coordinate System - a version of the technology that makes PINpoints work. For that reason, the RoN is considered an open reality. Anyone from any reality can pass through (and sometimes by accident), but there is nothing keeping anyone from being harmed or making decisions that affect the island.
However, for all the weirdness that an alternate universe can create, there's one thing about this island that hasn't changed - the Newfies are Newfies, and boy, do they like to party.

About the Location
For those of you who like specifics, the PRNYP will take place on a two square kilometre compound on the outskirts of the towns of Channel-Port aux Basques and Grand Bay, Newfoundland, at the base of the Long Range Mountains. This is where the Newfoundland Republican Armed Forces (NRAF) have hangars for their Armored Wing Division - their version of the Air Force. However the hangars have all been emptied and the aircraft relocated to Gander and Stephenville and they're decked out and waiting for you all to party hard. There'll be space indoors and out, and the hangars can easily accomodate any pup you feel like bringing along - from Tinkerbells to multi-story Evangelions.
However, you don't need to stay in the compound - the entirety of island is your oyster! Feel free to PIN over to Gros Morne for some camping or to George Street for the Mile O' Pubs! Just remember that IC actions have IC consequences. You are subject to the laws of the RoN here (which are basically just like the laws of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, if you're curious). So if you're going to streak in front of the police, you might spend a night in jail. ;)
FYI: the legal drinking age in the RoN is 18.

You don't have to join the_other_rock to partake in the party, but it's required to start new threads there.
If you're starting a new thread with respect to the party, please put "PRNYP" in the subject line to keep things tidy. I would prefer if all PRNYP threads were open for play to all.
Your threads may continue as long as you like, and you're welcome to stick to the community for as long as you please.
There will be an Anti-Violence Field in place around the compound only. Once you're outside that area, anything goes! But please don't go trashing Port Aux Basques and Grand Bay. The Newfies won't appreciate it.
Feel free to start plots here, whether of the SRS BZNSS type or otherwise.

OOC Interaction
I'll be making an AIM chat room for the first night of the party. If feedback is good and we get more than two or three people playing on the Rock, we'll continue to hold chats nightly for two weeks, or until threads wrap up and interest wanes - whichever comes first.
There's also the OOC comm, tor_ooc, which is where we'll have a contact info post as well as information about chats.
